Good Afternoon and Blessing to all of our Green Mountain Yogis and Yoginis!

As most of you have heard by now, Japan was rocked by a 8.9 magnitude earthquake and a corresponding tsunami. It is yet to be even guessed what the impact on lives will be, but we want to be proactive in providing any and all support that we can.

For the weekend classes, our teachers will invite to each of you to embrace the practice of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion. In bhakti yoga, the emotional force of the human being channeled toward another. All of us here at Green Mountain Yoga would be deeply honored to be joined by each of you in the devotion of your asana practice, meditation and prayers to the millions of lives who will be affected by this event.

We are also going to be a donation point for non-perishable items such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, feminine hygiene products, new/packaged socks and underwear, diapers and baby wipes, band-aids and other basic “unopened) first aid supplies such as Neosporin, gauze, cotton balls, rubbing alcohol etc… as well as batteries, flashlights or other basic tools that can aid in creating a small bit of comfort when there is little to be found.

Those who want to help can go to www.redcross.org and donate to Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami. People can also donate $10 by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to support our disaster relief efforts in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific.

Your gift to the American Red Cross will support our disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. On those rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.

Prayer of St Francis of Assisi:

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace;

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy.

Oh Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek

To be consoled as to console;

To be understood, as to understand;

To be loved, as to love;

For it is in giving that we receive,

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

It is in dying that we are born into eternal life.

Namaste,
