Live Your Passion – Develop Your Self
I discovered the practice of yoga about 11 years ago. At the time I was a university student traveling abroad to study and wanted something to keep me healthy while I was away and something I didn’t need to take anything with me like weights, balls, or other equipment. The two options I found were yoga and running. Since I’m not a runner I chose yoga. I bought a book and started my journey.
Two years later I found myself a recent graduate, a newlywed in a new town and I didn’t have a job. I had time on my hands to dive into my yoga practice and what I found was more than I could have hoped for, my Self. Yoga became my lifestyle. It made me feel so amazing that I felt if I didn’t share this experience with others that it would be the most selfish thing in the world I could do. And so, my search began to learn more and become a teacher.
Do you find you have a similar story? Have you been practicing yoga for a while and truly feel connected to the power it possesses? Do you want to learn more about yoga and meditation so that you can take your Self farther along this path of discovery?
Taking a yoga teacher training may be your next step. Yoga teacher trainings begin with developing your Self and learning about the yogic techniques of asana, pranayama and meditation. Becoming a yoga teacher is part of the process but is not required to take a training.
A yoga teacher training will develop a commitment to your Self and to your yoga practice. You will gain lifelong friendships with people who have similar interests. You will have a better understanding of yogic philosophy and learn ways in which to apply it to your daily life. You will discover the power of meditations and mantras to energize and heal. You will gain a deeper awareness of your body and a firm understanding of yoga postures and their ability to bring balance into your life.
A recent graduate put it this way, “Yoga has helped me to discover my true self. It helped me to open my mind and look outside with different eyes. Yoga helps me to keep my heart and mind in peace. In a nutshell, your training was pretty much the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.”
At Green Mountain School of Yoga we have developed intensive trainings that allow for rapid personal growth and learning of yogic techniques. It helps you get more out of your current training and gives you the necessary skills to move forward with yoga as a lifestyle.
